About Us
When your loved one with cognitive or physical disabilities is no longer able to care for themselves in their own homes, Thanksgiving House Residential Care Home is an option.
Thanksgiving House is a single-family residence that offers care in a home-like setting with a 24-hour staff. Our goal is to provide necessary care while emphasizing residents’ independence, choice, and decision-making.
Our highly trained staff prepare and serve meals, help with eating, dressing, bowel and bladder care, walking, getting out of bed or a chair, behavioral issues, and medication assistance.
We serve a wide variety of residents with varying needs and abilities, from those needing only room, board and minimal personal assistance, to those residents needing full personal and skilled nursing care.
Bedrooms
Thanksgiving has 5 private bedrooms and 1 semi-private bedroom. Each bedroom is fully equipped with all the necessities and features a roll in shower for universal accommodation. The bedrooms are tidied up daily and are a perfect place to retreat when one desires privacy.
Common Area
Our common area is our center for activity for the whole household. Our dining room and living room are connected, meaning a seamless transition from dinner to the comfort of one of our many easy chairs. Our common area is kept cozy by our fireplace, and it’s the perfect place for a conversation, curling up with a good book, or a nice nap. An added bonus of the common area is a world-class view of the beautiful Columbia River.
Entertainment
Thanksgiving House is fully equipped to keep your loved ones entertained for whatever mood they’re in! We have a big screen TV with access to many channels, a variety of movies, and many online radio stations for entertainment throughout the day. We also have an Internet capable computer for web browsing or Skype calls with family. We also keep a variety of books and games around for some low-tech enjoyment.
Porch
Our porch is usually reserved for the warmer months and offers a great opportunity for your loved ones to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Whether we are having a fun time barbecuing some food, or planting seeds in our box gardens, the porch is always a choice destination.
Staff
The shining stars of our facility are our wonderful staff. Each of our staff has completed industry standard training and undergoes continuing education every month of employment. Not only are our staff highly qualified to act as the eyes of the physician, they are also caring, wonderful individuals who have a personal connection with each resident. We select our staff knowing that you can pay anyone to do a job, but it really takes special individuals to love and provide top quality care for the wonderful people that live in our home.

Thanksgiving House is equipped with a fully supplied kitchen, which is ready to prepare delicious and healthy family-style meals for your loved one. Our staff is dedicated to facilitating a pleasant mealtime experience. We are also able to accommodate individuals’ dietary needs.
Activities of Daily Living
Our highly trained staff is always available to assist with activities of daily living while emphasizing dignity and respect. It is our goal to provide a high level of individualized care, while also fostering independence in daily activities.
Health Services
At Thanksgiving House, we always have our residents’ well being in mind. Our staff is trained to assist with medications and certain treatments. If extra help is needed, we can coordinate those services with outside providers to give our residents the best care available.
Active Lifestyle
We provide physically and mentally stimulating activities to keep our residents active each and every day. Residents enjoy music, art, friendship, crafts, cooking, exercise, and much, much more! We incorporate both individual and community activities to develop the person as a whole.
Housekeeping
At Thanksgiving House, we make sure that our facility reflects the pride that we take in our work. We work hard to ensure that our residents’ private quarters and common areas are clean and comfortable. Our staff has daily and weekly routines, and rigorous standards for all aspects of general house upkeep.
